Making Jew much sense
A doomed summation of what’s happening in the world.
One cannot fight the hatred of competence…with yet more competence.
To name the problem with clarity is to exacerbate it. To make sense, in that Jewishly way, of Jew hatred itself, is a fool’s errand.
The talent of articulation itself is what is most hated, perhaps because there are very few punishments that well-chosen words can’t throw into question, whether the punishment is just or not.
Nonetheless, I find myself guilty of the crime of naming the problem while Jewish. God help me. I can’t stop myself any more than a zebra can stop its own stripes.
I offer the following in black, white, and hopefully a bit of gray. (May it be read all over.)
What you’re about to read is the rambling of a flawed human doing his level best to be honest and clear; but who acknowledges he may be wrong about all of it.
Take a deep breath, and let’s begin.
The root of the problem
The truth about the trouble at hand — the Israel-Hamas War —is so hard for us to believe, and yet it’s hiding in plain sight. We struggle to believe it because it’s, first off, quite bizarre, and secondly, believing in it does little for peace of mind.
Nonetheless, here it is: Islamist Jihadists believe that if they don’t actively try to conquer the world and put it under Sharia (strict Islamic law) they will go to Hell for eternity.
They can pursue this goal in a slow and strategic way…but can never stop advancing for a single second.
They will lie, kill, etc., because none of that matters in the eyes of Allah, the one true God. They will distort and deflect infinitely, secure in the knowledge that they are saving the world from vile paganism and Satanism.
Wars and conflicts are just one of many tools to achieve their longterm aim.
The goings-on in Israel and Gaza are like 9/11 in that it’s a jackpot situation. A Hail Mary was executed, it landed (!), and the ensuing pandemonium is a gift that keeps on giving.
For the Islamist Jihadist seeking to topple the Western Empire, business is good.
Not only did they defy all odds perpetrating the greatest attack against Jews since the Holocaust; they also managed to weaponize the masses against each other.
The Godless, righteously-indignant leftist sodomites have donned keffiyehs and are railing against the pagan-worshipping Imperialist right. “God is great!”
The problem with Islamism
Islamists are spiritually greedy. They would rather have perfect answers to every challenge in life instead of the harder and more noble path of intellectual honesty and humility. Given human limits it’s unethical to behave like spiritual pigs, to be so certain and then turn that certainty into bloodshed.
It’s that last part — the Islamist Jihadist’s “perfect faith” — that leads to violent jihad and plans of world domination by any means necessary.
This attitude makes up sadly a nontrivial % of Islam.
The more normal Muslims, who have the potential to be a force for good, don’t commonly speak out against their fanatical contingent, perhaps out of fear their families will be targeted.
I refuse to lump all of Islam together which is why I’m careful to say Islamist. Some Muslims do speak out against Islamism so they deserve mention:
The Muslim Reform Movement issued a “Declaration of Reform” rejecting violent jihad and Islamist statism. They’ve publicly said:
We are in a battle for the soul of Islam, and an Islamic renewal must defeat the ideology of Islamism, or politicized Islam, which seeks to create Islamic states, as well as an Islamic caliphate.
…
We reject violent jihad. We believe we must target the ideology of violent Islamist extremism, in order to liberate individuals from the scourge of oppression and terrorism both in Muslim majority societies and the West.
…
We reject bigotry, oppression, and violence against all people based on any prejudice, including ethnicity, gender, language, belief, religion, sexual orientation and gender expression.
Wow, right?

The very idea that Islam as a faith shouldn’t be confused with Islamism the political ideology came from within Islam itself. The least we can do is make a good-faith effort to discern which is which and not lump normal people in with extremists.
Diagnosing Islamism
Islamism is like a malignancy; like cancer, it has four stages. What we’re witnessing now is between stage 2 and 3, wherein remission is still quite possible.
Israel is now the lonely surgeon, (trying in earnest to excise the deadly parts without damaging surrounding tissue and organs and generally failing miserably) and certain commentators in the West play the role of unheeded oncologists.
More benign forms of Islam still have hope, but are in a tough spot due to the unambiguous nature of the doctrine.
To be fair, we should mention that most religions are arguably at least pre-cancerous in that same way as moderate Islam; or maybe the other religions are more accurately in post-cancerous remission. Christianity has had its share of dark days.
Another analogy is drugs. Islamism being the most addictive and powerful drug, and Christianity and Judaism, etc, are now the more sustainable drugs (think occasional alcohol or SSRIs) all of which are sometimes used to numb the pain of nihilism, fear and loneliness.
Just like not all drugs are bad, some versions of religion can be good. A religion can even pass from being a drug to a vitamin, entirely sustainable, even healthy.
In the best scenario, religion matures into secular philosophy; a marriage of science, reason, and a celebration of humanistic leanings and wellbeing.
I see Carl Sagan or Sam Harris as the paragons, the harbingers of what someday may be a bravely open-eyed and grateful way to make sense of our place in the universe.
But snapping back to the present day, Islamist Jihadism is a dangerous cancer (or deathly addictive drug) often misdiagnosed as just a desperate reaction to political oppression. But it’s a cultic religious stance, whose adherents are hellbent on taking over the world and putting Allah first, whatever that means.
Jihadists really do think they’ll be sent to Hell if they don’t try with every fiber to succeed in this longterm mission.
Problems with the Western Empire.
Western excess, with its cognitive dissonances and suffering majority, gives us much to worry about. It’s sort of a cancer, too. The idol worship of money, power, status, sex, technology, idle entertainment, and life-or-death competition, typified in the U.S., a.k.a. “The Great Satan,” is ugly and unsustainable.
However, Islam is not the cure. Its lack of live and let live disqualifies it from being a candidate for a solution to the world’s moral failings.
After all, given the incomplete nature of human knowledge, this one edict, live and let live, above all else, seems to be sacred and required. It’s self-evidently the most intellectually honest and humble position we can take.
We thus say: go enjoy your religion peacefully, be happy, but don’t cram it down my throat.
The West is not perfect, but espouses freedom of religion, freedom of speech, equal rights, etc.
Liberal society has work to do to free itself from idols and excess, but we ought do this work free from the yoke of fanatical totalitarian certainty, free of Islam calling the shots and collecting jizya — a tax levied on the reviled non-believers in a state governed by Sharia. Free from ignorant, weak Islamist men treating female human beings like cattle from a young age.
So it is in this spirit that I stand with the feckless Western empire, and its greatest hero, that complex and unsung Dark Knight, Israel, the unwilling watchman.
Israel, and by extension, the Jewish people, have infamously been appointed to this front-line task because they are competent enough, and because they have long been so hated for this competence.
Godspeed to them. May we live another day, and someday overcome our petty differences and animal pasts, and become a human family of Earth.
For there is so much beauty awaiting us in such an awakening, and more waiting beyond, in the cosmos.

Ideological absolutism
Fanatically believe your way is the only way, no compromise. Achieve goal via whatever means necessary because Allah will send you to an eternity in Hell if you don’t. Lie, according to the edict of _taqiyya,_ as outlined in the Hadiths.
Astroturfing
Manipulate vulnerable naive young people with a known propensity to be gullible and outraged (liberal Gen Z) and feed leftist academics and politicians reasons to take up your cause under false pretenses. Pretend it’s an _oppression narrative_ when really the larger goal is to replace Western civilization with sharia law and Islam.
